The New Zealand Buddhist Sangha Fellowship and The New Zealand Tsi Ming Temple (紐西蘭 慈明寺) warmly invite all to the 2026 New Zealand Vesak Day and Sangha Offering Ceremony.

This auspicious event commemorates the birth of Shakyamuni Buddha and provides a precious opportunity to express gratitude for the wisdom and compassion he brought to the world.

Ceremony Highlights:

• Buddha Bathing Festival: Through the ritual of bathing the Buddha statue with fragrant water, we symbolize the purification of our own minds, washing away afflictions and awakening our inner Buddha-nature.
• Sangha Offering: The Sangha is the supreme field of merit. By practicing generosity and making pure offerings, we cultivate boundless merit and forge wholesome karmic affinities.

Benefits of Participation:

According to the Sutras, those who participate in bathing the Buddha and making offerings to the Triple Gem may experience:

1. Dignified appearance and increased vitality.
2. Prolonged lifespan, happiness, and peace.

As we navigate the unique landscape of practicing and teaching the Dhamma in Aotearoa, this gathering serves as an opportunity to strengthen our ties and support one another.

  • Addressing current challenges faced by temples in NZ.
  • Exploring avenues for better collaboration and shared resources.
  • Temple Introductions: We invite a representative from each temple to briefly introduce their community and location.

Accommodation and Flights for Regional Sangha: For Sangha members traveling from outside of Auckland, accommodation and flight arrangements can be arranged by the NZ BUDDHIST SANGHA Society. Please reach out to our coordinators as early as possible to ensure arrangements are finalised.
